Professional background:
I am a 20 year veteran teacher of multiple subjects; reading, writing, physical education, and Art from K-12, college, university, and beyond both in the US and in China where I taught for 10+ years.
Education:
I attended CSN where I majored in Fine Arts and Education. Upon receiving my Associate of Art and Associates of Fine Arts, I transferred to UNLV where I received my B.A. in Art and continued my endeavor towards receiving further education towards becoming a teacher.
Further Education:
After teaching in CCSD for over a year, I was accepted to Texas Tech University for my Master of Fine Arts degree and earned multiple scholarships before attending. One scholarship I’m proud of receiving was the Art scholarship.
In 2008, I purchased a one way ticket to China towards becoming a better teacher. The goal was to return home after 5 years; however, I returned home to Las Vegas after 10 years with my wife whom I met in 2009 after completing a 2,000 mile bicycle ride from Beijing to China in 43 days. While in China, we hiked on the Great Wall where I proposed to my wife as well. We climbed the 5 famous mountains, traveled the country and had adventures outside of China.
Life Today:
Today, I am the proud father of a beautiful baby girl; Charlotte who has inspired me to build my company, FIRST TIME PARENT and publish 10 books in 3 categories. Since 3 months of age, Charlotte has been going with us on long road trips and hikes. She loves the gravel road and sand dunes more than a paved sidewalk. Charlotte communicates with lions, eats spicy foods, and loves to laugh and play.
Professional life today:
I am still a teacher while tending to my company full time while writing and being a full time family man. My life is busy by design. I enjoy every second of my day no matter how busy I am.
